CWRT Meeting - Rick Britton: Charlottesville During the Civil War
Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Time: 8:00 PM

LECTURE TOPIC: At first glance, this area of central Virginia—where Mr. Jefferson dominates all the history—appears to be a Civil War "black hole," a place where nothing happened. With this presentation, Rick Britton strives to revise that perception. By the end, hopefully, the listeners will agree that Charlottesville and Albemarle County played significant roles in Virginia’s Confederate war effort.

SPEAKER: Rick Britton is an award-winning historian living in Charlottesville, Virginia. Along with his writing, he teaches classes on Virginia’s amazing history, illustrates maps for books and websites, and conducts tours of Virginia’s numerous fascinating historic sites.
